Long Division Worksheets
Long division is the longest procedure in primary math and the one most often performed without understanding. These sheets use three-digit dividends and single-digit divisors — enough for the full divide, multiply, subtract, bring down cycle to repeat twice, which is where the method either holds or falls apart.

What to watch for when you grade this sheet
- Forgetting to bring the next digit down after subtracting.
- Omitting a zero in the quotient when a step divides to nothing.
- Subtracting incorrectly mid-problem, which corrupts everything after it.
One thing that helps
The missing zero in the quotient is the error to watch for. If the answer has one fewer digit than expected, that is almost always what happened.
