Flashcards for vocabulary
Flashcards turn words into quick games. The best sets are small — ten to twenty cards at a time — and revisited often. Say each word, use it in a sentence and then check the back. Print on card stock, cut along the dotted lines, and keep cards that are 'known' in one pile and 'still learning' in another.
Our sets cover the Dolch and Fry sight word lists, key phonics patterns, common prefixes and suffixes, words with more than one meaning, and graded vocabulary for grades 1 to 5.
Questions parents ask
How many sight word cards should I introduce at once?
Three to five new words per week alongside review of the ones already learnt.
Do I need to print double-sided?
Only for sets with answers on the back (vocabulary, prefixes, multiple meanings). Sight-word cards are single-sided.
