What children learn in grammar & writing in Grade 3
In Grade 3 (typically ages 8–9; equivalent to Year 3 (Australia), Year 4 (England), Class 3), grammar & writing work usually focuses on adverbs, pronouns, subject and predicate, apostrophes and opinion paragraphs. The exact order differs from school to school and country to country, so treat this as a guide rather than a checklist.
Below you will find every Grade 3 grammar & writing worksheet on the site, grouped by topic. Each has three printable sheets and a full answer key. For a quick review pick a topic your child already knows; for new learning, start with the first sheet in a topic and move on once the answers come easily.
Questions parents ask

Curricula differ by country, but the topics listed above are typical. Use them as a guide and move up or down as your child needs.
How often should we practise?
Short, regular practice — ten to twenty minutes, three or four times a week — works better than long occasional sessions.
Are answer keys included?
Yes. Every worksheet has an answer key under the sheet; there are three different sheets per topic so you can practise again without repeats.
