Capitalization Worksheets
Every sentence here has been stripped of its capitals, including the ones in names, places and titles. Rewriting the sentence correctly is harder than circling the letters that should change, because nothing marks where the decisions are.

What to watch for when you grade this sheet
- Capitalizing the first word and nothing else.
- Missing capitals inside a name that has two parts, like Oak Street or Mrs. Patel.
- Capitalizing a common noun that happens to feel important, such as school or teacher.
One thing that helps
Ask what the word names. A capital marks one particular thing — this street, this person, this ocean — not an important-sounding one.
