Commas in a Series Worksheets
Each sentence contains a list with its commas removed, and the number of commas needed is given. That hint is deliberate: it removes the guessing and leaves the actual question, which is where one item ends and the next begins.

What to watch for when you grade this sheet
- Putting a comma after the final item, before the verb.
- Missing the comma before 'and' in a three-item list.
- Treating a two-part phrase like 'bread and butter' as two separate items.
One thing that helps
Count the items first and write the number down. A list of four items takes three commas, and knowing that before starting prevents most errors.
