What to watch for when you grade this sheet
- Estimating too high, then having to erase and redo the step.
- Estimating too low, leaving a remainder larger than the divisor mid-problem.
- Rounding the divisor to estimate and then forgetting to multiply by the real one.
One thing that helps
Teach rounding the divisor to the nearest ten to get a first guess, then adjusting. 38 behaves like 40 for estimating and the correction is usually one step.
