2-Digit by 1-Digit Multiplication Worksheets
This is the first multiplication that needs a written method, and it combines two things that were learned separately: the times tables and carrying. A child who is shaky on either will look shaky on both here, so it is worth knowing which before re-teaching.

What to watch for when you grade this sheet
- Multiplying the tens digit and forgetting to add the carried amount.
- Adding the carry before multiplying rather than after.
- Knowing the fact but mis-writing the two-digit partial product.
One thing that helps
If the ones digit of the answer is right and the tens digit is wrong, it is a carrying problem. If the ones digit is wrong, it is a times-table problem. That one check tells you where to go next.
