Multiplying Fractions Worksheets
Multiplying fractions is easier than adding them — straight across, no common denominator — which confuses children who have just spent weeks on conversion. Expect them to over-complicate it at first by finding a common denominator they do not need.

What to watch for when you grade this sheet
- Finding a common denominator out of habit from the addition work.
- Cross-multiplying as though solving for an unknown.
- Not simplifying, so 2/4 is left instead of 1/2.
One thing that helps
Point out that multiplying two proper fractions always gives something smaller than both. It is a free sanity check and it surprises most children.
