Equivalent Fractions Worksheets
Equivalent fractions are the gateway to every other fraction operation: without them a child cannot find a common denominator, and without that, adding fractions is impossible. The idea is simple — multiply top and bottom by the same number — and it is worth over-practising.

What to watch for when you grade this sheet
- Multiplying the numerator and adding to the denominator.
- Multiplying one part by 2 and the other by 3.
- Finding one equivalent fraction but not seeing that there are infinitely many.
One thing that helps
Ask for three equivalent fractions rather than one. A child who can only produce the doubled version has learned a step, not the idea.
