Adding Decimals Worksheets
Adding decimals is column addition with one new rule: line up the decimal points, not the right-hand edges. Nearly every error on these sheets traces back to that single habit, which is why the problems are generated with differing numbers of decimal places.

What to watch for when you grade this sheet
- Right-aligning the digits instead of aligning the decimal points.
- Dropping the decimal point from the answer entirely.
- Not filling empty places with zeros before adding.
One thing that helps
Write in the missing zeros first, so 4.5 becomes 4.50. It costs a second and removes the most common error on the sheet.
