Food Word Search Worksheets
A word search on the theme of food, on a 14 by 14 grid, with words running across, down and diagonally. Themed puzzles hold attention longer than word-list puzzles do, which matters when the real goal is twenty minutes of close letter-by-letter attention.

What to watch for when you grade this sheet
- Scanning the whole grid for each word in turn, which is slow; scanning each row once for any word is faster.
- Missing words that run diagonally upward.
- Confusing a themed word with a similar one that is not on the list.
One thing that helps
Cross words off the list as they are found. Children who do not keep re-searching for words they have already located, which is where most of the frustration on a long puzzle comes from.
