- Confusing 12 × 7 and 12 × 8, the two that are usually learned last.
- Getting the table right in order and failing the same facts when shuffled.

Generate the sheet twice and compare times. If the second attempt is much faster, the child is learning that sheet rather than the 12 times table — shuffle and try again tomorrow.
