What to watch for when you grade this sheet
- Reversing s with c and z, the pair it is genuinely confused with at this age.
- Starting the letter at the wrong point, which produces a shape that looks right but cannot be written at speed.
- Floating above the baseline, or sitting the letter on the dotted midline instead of the solid line.

Both halves of s are curves. A straight line anywhere in it means the child is drawing the shape rather than writing the letter.
