Grade 6 Word Search Worksheets
A grade 6 word search built from the spelling band for that year, on a 16 by 16 grid. Press for a new puzzle and both the grid and the word placement change — the word list stays at the same level, which is the point.

Solution (with word list)
- 1. ACCOMPLISHMENT (down); ACKNOWLEDGE (up-diag); CONSEQUENCE (down); EXAGGERATE (diag); HYPOTHESIS (right); INDEPENDENCE (diag); INVESTIGATE (up-diag); MAGNIFICENT (diag); MANUFACTURE (up-diag); PRELIMINARY (diag); SIGNIFICANT (down); VOCABULARY (up-diag)
What to watch for when you grade this sheet
- Finding words left to right only, and missing the diagonals entirely.
- Circling a word that is not on the list, which is usually a near-miss created by the filler letters.
- Giving up on the last two or three words rather than scanning column by column.
One thing that helps
Scan for unusual letters first. Words containing Q, X, Z or a double letter are far faster to spot than words made of common letters, and finding them early removes them from the list.
