Comparing Numbers Worksheets
Comparing numbers looks trivial until the two numbers have different digit counts or share a leading digit. The method that scales is comparing left to right, place by place, and stopping at the first difference.

What to watch for when you grade this sheet
- Reversing the < and > symbols.
- Comparing by digit count alone, which fails on 1,009 versus 999.
- Comparing the last digits instead of the first.
One thing that helps
The symbol points at the smaller number. That phrasing sticks better than the alligator mouth, and it survives into inequalities later.
